My work has a sensitivity which enables me to make an emotional connection to your unique story, making sure the details, along with the laughter, smiles and tears are documented with beauty and romance. The resulting photographs are timeless and elegant captured in a sensitive, honest, yet considered way.

Interview

IF I HAVE A FREE SUNDAY I WOULD SPEND IT… going on a long, muddy walk around some of our local countryside with my husband, daughter (but as she is a teenager it is pretty difficult to get her to come with us these days!) and our dog. Ending the day in front of an open fire with a roast dinner at one of our local pubs!

MY MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE WAS… it’s a tough choice between driving around the tiny, winding roads of Val D’Orcia in Southern Tuscany with the breathtaking views of tiny villages perched on top of mountains contrasted with sweeping vineyards and olive groves. Or, a trip back to Canada (where I grew up) last year. Driving through the Rockies where my husband and daughter got to see them for the first time. It was such a joy to see them again after all these years and to show my family the absolute beauty of the place that I talk about so often. Also, getting to visit the Valley of the Kings and Valley of Queens in Luxor, Egypt many years ago will always be very special.

THE COUNTRY I MOST WANT TO VISIT IS… there are lots, but I would love visit Japan to see some of its natural beauty.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT MY JOB IS… It may sound trite, but it is the honour of being able to not only share such a special time in someone’s lives, but to document it in a meaningful way. It means the world to me to be entrusted to do this for my couples.

IF I COULD GIVE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IT WOULD BE enjoy the process. It should be fun, not stressful. Follow your hearts, stay true to yourselves as a couple and don’t be swayed by other people’s expectations. On the day itself, trust that those around you are taking care of everything and enjoy what is important on the day - and that isn’t the small stuff - it is that you are marrying your love.

I LOVE WHERE I LIVE BECAUSE… I am very fortunate to live where I do in rural Cheshire in England. There is so much natural beauty in our green countryside and so much history around us. Castles, stately homes and historic towns and cities are close by for us to visit and to inspire.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IT WOULD BE… that would be a difficult choice between right where I am now or in Canada where I grew up.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE IS? Another tough choice but I will go with Atonement, based on the book by Ian McEwan, which also happens to be my favourite book.

MOST MEMORABLE MEAL I’VE EVER EATEN WAS… way too many to mention! I love anything from a hearty bowl of pasta to dinner in a Michelin star restaurant, just as long is it isn’t too pretentious.

THE PETS I OWN ARE… our gorgeous West Highland White Terrier, Basil. He makes me smile every day.
