Francesca and David’s wedding at CHÂTEAU LACANAUD in Eymet was a beautifully personal celebration, captured with an effortless, emotive eye by FRANCES MARY SALES. Planned and styled by MARRY ME IN FRANCE, with florals shaping the aesthetic by OUR FABULOUS THINGS, the day felt relaxed, elegant, and deeply heartfelt from beginning to end.
Their story began in the most modern of ways — a first date via Hinge that instantly felt different. From the moment David walked in, Francesca recalls feeling both calm and excited, a quiet certainty settling in that surprised her. That feeling never left. Years later, during a holiday in Mauritius, David planned an unforgettable proposal with a private treehouse dinner on the beach, followed by a film under the stars — romantic, thoughtful, and entirely “them.”
Choosing a Château for the Whole Weekend
When it came to selecting a venue, the couple knew they wanted more than a single-day celebration. Château Lacanaud in Eymet offered exactly what they were searching for — an effortlessly beautiful setting that felt romantic without formality, warm without being overwhelming. With space to host family and friends across an entire weekend, the château allowed everyone to slow down, connect and truly experience the celebration together. From the very first visit, it felt intimate, welcoming and quietly magical.

Soft Design with a French Countryside Spirit
With a background in design, Francesca created the wedding stationery herself, setting the tone for the weekend ahead. A palette of soft blues and greens, scalloped edges and subtle stripes nodded to French countryside charm, blending rustic ease with thoughtful detail. Planning by MARRY ME IN FRANCE helped bring the vision together seamlessly, ensuring everything felt elevated yet relaxed — never overly styled, always personal.
An Emotional Morning, Shared Together
The wedding morning unfolded calmly, surrounded by Francesca’s closest people — bridesmaids, siblings and her MC — with laughter, happy tears and a sense of quiet anticipation filling the space. One of the most touching moments came when her father saw her in her dress for the first time, a memory they both will carry forever. It was a morning that felt unhurried and deeply meaningful.

Fashion That Felt True
Francesca’s one-shoulder gown from NEWHITE, discovered at THE FALL BRIDE in London, wasn’t what she initially imagined — until she tried it on again and fell completely in love. The organza overlay added softness and movement, while the fitted silhouette felt modern and confident. David complemented the relaxed French setting in a classic linen suit from SUIT SUPPLY, while the bridal party wore a mix of sage greens, soft blues and florals, each look reflecting individual style while remaining beautifully cohesive.
Natural Florals and Effortless Beauty
Florals by OUR FABULOUS THINGS reflected Francesca’s love of understated beauty, using soft whites and greens with wild, countryside textures. Cow parsley, her favourite bloom, featured throughout, giving the arrangements an airy, freshly gathered feel — romantic, natural and perfectly at home in the château setting.

A Lakeside Ceremony and Courtyard Cocktails
Overlooking the lake, the ceremony was emotional and deeply personal. Francesca was walked down the aisle by her father, while David waited — composed, yet visibly moved. Following their vows, guests gathered in the courtyard for champagne, cocktails and live acoustic music, soaking in the golden light and the joy of the moment.
A Celebration Full of Energy and Heart
The reception took place in a marquee on the château grounds, styled with long tables, candlelight and abundant florals. Food and wine played a central role, celebrating the couple’s love of French cuisine and convivial dining. Speeches flowed between laughter and tears, and the evening quickly turned into a joyful, slightly chaotic dance party — complete with tambourines, light-up accessories and even foam cut-outs of their beloved sausage dog. It was playful, unforgettable, and completely authentic.

Lingering in the Newlywed Glow
Not quite ready to leave France, Francesca and David extended the magic with a honeymoon stay at Les Sources de Caudalie. Surrounded by vineyards, spa treatments and incredible food, they settled into a peaceful newlywed bubble — the perfect ending to a wedding weekend that felt warm, joyful and deeply connected from start to finish.

the photographer’s word
“I absolutely loved photographing Francesca and David’s wedding at Chateau Lacanaud. Their day was such a lovely summer wedding, it was so relaxed and fully centered around having an incredible time with all of their loved ones in a beautiful setting. I adored all of the little creative and personal touches in the styling, from the beautiful florals, the mismatched bridal party outfits, to the beautiful rope and pole tent that brought everything together. I also can’t forget to mention the tambourines that Fran and David provided for every guest that made their entrance to dinner a real highlight. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming from start to finish, and it was such a joy to be a part of!” FRANCES MARY SALES
