Don't change your screen… your eyes aren't deceiving you! You are indeed seeing vibrant pink gracing the pages of Magnolia Rouge! Admittedly we don't feature a lot of bold bright colours around here BUT isn't this a beautifully refreshing change? And wouldn't it make for the most stunning wedding decor to incorporate gorgeous Bougainvillea throughout? Styled by Southern California wedding planner SOMNI EVENTS with incredible florals by MILLIEU FLORALS, it was this striking – yet common – bloom alone that inspired them. Captured by ETHER & SMITH, it features a tablescape in shades of pinks and corals, intentionally set inside the all-white, ethereal cathedral of ST. VIBIANA.
Michelle from SOMNI EVENTS tells us, "The room is filled with architectural details from the Italian Baroque columns to the ornate arched ceiling. Layers of century old marble and onyx define the grand stage and serve as the ideal backdrop for this intimate table of eight. When designing this editorial, I imagined a refined garden with an ethereal aesthetic. Lush and romantic florals are illuminated with light that pours in from the grand windows that offer up the skyline of the city. Keeping the rest of the table relatively neutral, each place setting features a miniature cake with fondant bougainvilleas and delicate hand-drawn calligraphy on textured organic paper. The prism glasswares add a playful touch for a more inviting dining experience. The micro ceremony is lined with distressed King Louis Chairs. Unstructured bougainvillea vines naturally trail down to appear as if they are growing right out of the altar.
We chose two distinct ENZOANI gowns from LA SOIE BRIDAL to convey different feels. The first dress is elegant and feminine with chantilly lace and l'éclat lined tulle. The second dress is romantic and ethereal with 3D floral motifs carefully embroidered onto the dreamy tulle skirt and long cathedral veil. To complete the look, the delicate headpiece is made of cold porcelain clay flowers, each entirely shaped by hand.
And finally the invitation suite by JACKIE CHEN DESIGN, was the perfect finishing touch with simple typography and the prettiest watercolour of bougainvillea."
