Nestled in the heart of the English countryside, SUDELEY CASTLE set the stage for an enchanting wedding editorial that seamlessly blended the grandeur of a royal celebration with the whimsical charm of an outdoor garden party. Drawing inspiration from the castle’s Elizabethan architecture and rich history, this editorial captured by KASSIDY ILAYNE STUDIOS brought to life a love story that felt both timeless and effortlessly romantic.

An ENCHANTING SETTING

SUDELEY CASTLE, a breathtaking 15th-century medieval estate, is steeped in history and surrounded by the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. Just a few hours from London, the castle boasts sprawling gardens, an ornate chapel—home to the final resting place of Queen Catherine Parr—and intricate stonework that exudes regal charm. This stunning venue served as the perfect backdrop for a wedding editorial designed by SOPHIE KAYE and POPPY CARTER at their workshop, to capture the essence of old-world romance and modern-day elegance.

A GOWN FIT FOR ROYALTY

Designed exclusively by MARA MARIE BRIDAL of London, the Lilibet gown was created with enduring beauty in mind. With a square neckline, long sleeves, and a removable overskirt, the dress allowed for a seamless transition from a formal ceremony to an evening celebration. A standout detail was the row of functioning covered buttons cascading up the back, adding a touch of vintage refinement. For brides who adore versatility, the gown also featured a removable bow—both a nod to classic bridal elegance and a hallmark of the designer’s craftsmanship.

FLORAL FORWARD DESIGN

Florals were at the heart of this editorial, bringing a lush, storybook garden to life. Florist CLEMENTINE MOON worked with a dreamy palette of warm raspberry pink, cream, yellow and lilac, setting the tone for a romantic yet refined aesthetic. The arrangements, composed of delicate roses and hydrangeas, spilled from antique-style vessels, evoking the feeling of blooms freshly gathered from a secret garden.

The reception tables were designed with equal attention to detail, featuring coordinating florals alongside elegant toile-patterned plates and tactile, layered stationery. A particularly striking design element was the set of custom tabletop lamps, each wrapped in fabric that perfectly complemented the soft blush linens—adding an unexpected yet sophisticated touch to the tablescape.

The combination of the castle’s historic charm, soft autumnal hues, and thoughtful design elements made for a breathtaking celebration that felt both luxurious and intimate.

show-stopping cake display

One of the most breathtaking design moments was the cake table, which was draped in an abundance of florals from top to base, creating a lush, almost ethereal display. At its center stood a stunning cake by ANNA LEWIS CAKES minimal in color but rich in ornate detailing. An intricate crest and delicate embellishments paid homage to the grandeur of Sudeley Castle, ensuring that this statement piece felt both opulent and refined.
