Today we have some gorgeous decor inspiration to share with you by TARALYNN LAWTON. It’s from a real wedding where by the couple decided to forgo having an official photographer, however the clever ladies at STUDIO MONDINE who styled the event, asked Taralynn to come along and document all the details for them – afterall this much lush prettiness needs to be preserved somehow!

The ladies from STUDIO MONDINE tell us, “Quinn, a visual merchandiser for Club Monaco, and her fiance, skateboard photographer Ando, shared with us their vision of wild, romantic flowers in a soft palette for their wedding at Sea Ranch Lodge. We immediately turned our eyes toward translating their unique individual styles through the details.

We wanted to keep the overall aesthetic soft and feminine, but juxtapose ruffly blooms with edgy, unexpected, and downright unusual details. Vines trailed above dinner tables and seemed to grow out of the deer skulls affixed above the dance floor. Other natural curiosities awaited below for guests to explore: wildcat skulls, geodes, and mounted butterflies in suspended animation under glass cloches. We designed a custom paper suite for the day featuring clean, minimal black type on thick white paper, with a plume of smoke settling over each menu.

Quinn’s bouquet featured luscious garden roses she loved at our first meeting. We paired them with wild and unusual ingredients: pale mineral blue clematis, spotted begonia, and pampas grass foraged a few hundred feet from the ceremony site. We wrapped her bouquet with inky hand-dyed silk ribbons and thick black leather. Ando and his groomsmen wore boutonnieres of deep blue viburnum and selenite crystal wrapped in thin black strips of leather. The icy crystals were hand-wired with a champagne muselet detail hinting at the party to come.
