A historic inn kissed by golden leaves and the warm smell of fall, made for the most romantic location for Ashley and Patrick’s southern autumn wedding and these beautiful images by Atlanta wedding photographer AMANDA OLIVIA PHOTOGRAPHY transport us right there. What started as an unexpected conversation at one of Atlanta’s dive bars turned into a passionate, playful and sentimental relationship. The couple spends as much of their time outside as they can, and when planning their wedding they knew they needed to say I do somewhere surrounded by nature. Ashley used to take trips to the Highlands as a young girl and her parents even got remarried up there, so their destination in the Highlands held a legacy meaning for her.
Their wedding – held at OLD EDWARDS INN – combined all things classic and cozy about fall with touches of southern vintage style. Both Ashley and Patrick love antiques and incorporated them throughout their day. Sage, creams and pops of burgundy were used and were the most beautiful accent colours to the fall leaves that already painted their venue.
The couple opted not to do a first look, but instead a beautiful behind the door letter exchange. Faith is the backbone of their relationship and they sprinkled touches of their love for Christ throughout their day. From a stunning cross at the altar to prayers in the form of letter exchanges while standing back to back, their faith was evident throughout the whole day.
After their ceremony Ashley and Patrick had the most incredibly fun and dance filled evening I’ve ever seen. Ashley’s mom even surprised her with a choreographed dance to “Dancing Queen” which got everyone on the dance floor. After a night full of fun the two hopped in their getaway car to do it all again the next day in Atlanta with even more friends and family by their side.
