Le Rêve—French for “The Dream”—perfectly captures the heart of this editorial styled shoot, set against the awe-inspiring beauty of Bali. Known for its lush landscapes and cultural richness, Bali provides the ideal canvas for a wedding inspiration shoot that weaves French sophistication with Chinese traditions. Exquisitely captured by AMELIA SOEGIJONO, this breathtaking visual narrative, unfolds at the serene COMO SHAMBHALA ESTATE, a sanctuary steeped in spiritual significance. The location, where two rivers converge to form a sacred meeting point, becomes the backdrop for a story of love, legacy, and timeless elegance.

With over eight years in the wedding industry, Shermaine highlights the importance of collaboration in bringing creative visions to life. THE FLORALS
From florist Brenda Lee of FIORE DORETO: “Our love for classic sophistication and understated luxury is at the heart of this vision. Despite unexpected logistical challenges with imported flowers, we embraced creativity with local resources. We chose a lush, ethereal palette of white baby’s breath and white bougainvillea. Known as ‘souffle de bébé’ in French, baby’s breath represents innocence and eternal love, lending a soft, romantic feel to the arrangements. The white bougainvillea, not native to France but iconic in Bali, beautifully marries the two worlds. Blending these elements, totalling nearly 4,000 blooms, and a dedicated team of florists, we achieved a grand yet effortless design for the ceremony and reception.”

A TALE TOLD THROUGH GOWNS
The bride’s wardrobe is a celebration of her journey, featuring three distinct gowns that reflect her transformation from dream to reality. The MONIQUE LHUILLIER dress, adorned with floral appliqués, mirrors the innocence of her childhood. As she steps into the ceremony, she dons the ethereal Paloma gown by GALIA LAHAV, complete with a sheer tulle cape that flows gracefully in the breeze. The final look—a bold black cocktail dress—introduces a dramatic flair for the evening’s celebrations, symbolizing the couple’s embrace of individuality alongside tradition. Each gown plays a role in weaving the bride’s story, seamlessly transitioning from soft, romantic moments to bold statements of love and style.
The natural setting serves as both inspiration and canvas for this celebration, ensuring every design element enhances the breathtaking beauty of Bali.
a love story in bloom
Photographer AMELIA SOEGIJONO artfully captures the essence of the shoot, crafting a narrative that reflects the bride’s cherished childhood memories. Growing up in the French countryside, the bride’s early years were spent running through fields of wildflowers. This tender connection to nature is echoed in the ceremony’s design, where cascading white bougainvillea creates an atmosphere of effortless extravagance. The groom, of Chinese-Indonesian heritage, is seen walking through the floral aisle—a symbolic convergence of their individual stories into one shared future.
The editorial’s use of film photography imbues each image with a sense of nostalgia and timelessness, enhancing the depth and emotion of the day. AMELIA’S storytelling approach ensures every detail feels intentional, from the flicker of sunlight through the bougainvillea to the couple’s shared glances.
