Inspired by the English and French countryside as well as their eclectic taste - which initially made them fall in love - Bahar & Josh celebrated their union with a timeless and chic soiree at ROSECLIFF MANSION in Newport, Rhode Island. With its spectacular oceanfront landscape, lush landscaped gardens and inspiring architecture, the guests could soak it all up whilst wining and dining under gilded bronze and crystal chandeliers and the trompe-l’oeil in the ballroom. ELIZABETH LADUCA captured these beautiful images of their day which was put together with the help of wedding planner URBAN SOIREE.

HOW DID YOU MEET? Josh and I met through a professional match making company called the Three Day Rule. He was my last match and we instantly hit it off and discovered that we had mutual friends, and in fact, were going to the same wedding that summer.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Josh proposed at my cape house, on the beach. He hired a photographer to hide and take pictures, and surprised me with a private chef to make a multi course meal, with each course symbolising a place we had traveled together!

TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS/ATTIRE: I wore a Pronovias dress and Josh wore a custom Tom Ford tuxedo.

DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? Not really! I definitely leaned on Renee and our vendors. We were particular about what we wanted, which made every moment so special, but we had incredible support to execute it all.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: We kept it classic with white and blush flowers. My bouquet had roses and bellflowers.

FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: It’s so hard to pick! We loved the food (pasta bolognese and funfetti cake!) and having our signature drink the Mr. Milo (a mint julep for our rescue dog, originally from Georgia), having espresso martini’s and Dominos for late night snacks, and just having the most amazing vendors and venue. We couldn’t have had the perfect wedding without them all.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator. There are so many details to planning a wedding and you never know what can go wrong, but you absolutely don’t want to be dealing with it on the day of your wedding. Have a good team around you so you can at some point “sign off” and enjoy the day to the absolute fullest. It goes by so quickly!

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Getting married of course!! But also just looking around during dinner and taking in the Rosecliff. It is so architecturally stunning inside, and when you add some uplighting, candles, flowers and all the people you love, it’s just incredible.

WHAT ASPECT OF THE WEDDING WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU BOTH? We wanted to create a fun experience that incorporated important parts of our relationship (favourite dishes, songs, drinks, etc.) throughout the day. Everything had a meaning or memory behind it.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? It was perfect!
