These images in the forest are so ethereal and peaceful wouldn't it be magical to hold your wedding ceremony in a spot like this? With a sweet brook running nearby and the melodic sounds of nature through the trees sounds pretty perfect to me! Erica from Wit Weddings who styled the shoot explains the inspiration behind it perfectly below. A big thank you to photographer Rebekah J. Murray and the rest of the team for sharing this with us.

From Erica, The shoot was inspired by our feelings to create a sense of peace surrounding a wedding. The calming colors of pale blue, pale green, and light grey found in Scandinavian nature brought together the entire feel and look of the shoot. With white and cool pastels being the colors most often used in Swedish interiors, we felt this palette to be well associated with weddings.

Artists credited with popularizing Swedish style of decorating were influenced by the light and weather of Scandinavia. As Swedish style focuses on bringing about lightness through reflective surfaces, we knew we wanted to include water elements in our setting. Swedish accessories are handmade from natural materials, and so, we included blonde woods, birch wood, and stones in the shoot. The tablescape was covered in similar Swedish style fabrics of simple woven textured white linen or cotton. We used repetitive whites through china and floral arrangements to capture a feeling of lightness. The garlands and headpieces were also homage to Swedish style. The King's Garden in Stockholm, Sweden houses more than 60 Japanese Cherry trees, to which we also drew inspiration for the shoot.

While a serene setting can certainly create a sense of peace, we believe it is the people present at a wedding that ultimately create a sense of harmony. The Swedish models for the shoot are sisters, and their Swedish mother believes in keeping Buddhist statues nearby as a reminder of mindfulness and enlightenment.
