The lush garden wedding editorial by San Francisco wedding photographer AMANDA WEI was inspired by the beautiful BEAULIEU GARDEN in Napa Valley. Stylist Carrie from TYPE A SOCIETY tells us, "I wanted to simplify the idea to allow the botanicals to really shine. For the colour story, I picked a simple palette of greens and whites, and brought the botanical prints and ferns in as main elements. Ferns are one of the oldest plants in recorded history; fossils indicate that ferns have been on Earth for more than 360 million years, predating all other groups of plants except club mosses. To me, they have always been the picture of life. Vibrant and powerful, they are one of the first things to grow after a forest fire, and I was inspired by their vibrant will to survive. It’s easy to forget how precious it is to be alive. For the gowns, we chose simple yet modern looks pulled from Loho Bridal in San Francisco, and placed the model among the sculptural topiary trees. We had three looks that went from modern to classic romantic. and paired each look with modern earrings and shoes. For our tablescape we kept it very simple and minimal, with monochromatic greens. Green velvet chairs were chosen to match the rest of the theme. We also added botanical-inspired silverware and our fern menu card by THE IDEA EMPORIUM.”
