Well this wedding might just take the cake for our new favourite bridesmaids look! Charleston wedding photographer ANNE RHETT captured Rose and Davis’s dreamy wedding day which was full of vibrant colour and dashes of natural whimsy.
The couple met for the first time in boarding school, but they didn’t actually date until they became reacquainted as adults in New York City. As they say, timing is everything! They were married in South Carolina at Rose’s happy place - a private club outside of Charleston where she spent quality family time growing up. JOHN LUPTON EVENTS, along with Rose’s mother, talented interior designer KARIN CORNELSON, created a beautiful backdrop for the celebration.
The couple exchanged vows on the most magical piece of land - a clearing overlooking the marsh, a spot Rose discovered over Thanksgiving while visiting. JOHN LUPTON created a majestic wooded scene: an aisle flanked by vintage church pews and lined with planted ferns, florals, and local driftwood. They timed the ceremony to take place just as the sun was setting over the marsh, and the light streaming through Rose’s lace cathedral-length veil at the altar was breathtaking.
A horse-drawn carriage whisked the newlyweds to their reception under a truly whimsical tent where white peacocks lorded over the bars and cheeky parrot statues, tortoise shells, and tiny Herend animal figurines peaked around mossy centerpieces and punchy peonies. Rose’s REEM ACRA gown featured ornate floral embroidery, and her bridesmaids wore a stunning variety of green and purple floral prints.
Nods to the bride’s affinity for dragonflies were everywhere- embroidered on the pyjama shirts her bridesmaids wore to get ready and on the custom linen cocktail napkins at the bar, and there was even a surprise one perched delicately on her floral cake. The result was gorgeous - like a grown-up garden party gone black tie! Utter perfection.
