Have you ever wished for something magical to happen as you blew out your birthday candles? What about wishing to find that special someone? This beautiful wedding by Southern California wedding photographer LUCY MUNOZ takes the cake (pun intended) because Kyleigh met Hayden on his birthday, which inspired all the design details for their day. Hayden's mom created a variety of beautiful bundt cakes as it has always been tradition to make one for her children on the morning of their birthday. AMOROLOGY designed this event with all those elements in mind. She used taper candles held in canvas pockets to double as favours and escort cards and invited guests to make a wish for the happy couple! We love how unique that is!

The colour palette was desert tones in blush, sand and sienna to play to the Nevada desert where their reception was held with touches of soft blue.  The DRAGON RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB where the event was held was near and dear to Hayden as it's where he grew up learning to play golf so they couldn't resist taking to the course for some photos. This had all the magic of wishes coming true, but what makes it even more special is that birthdays signify the start of a new birth year, and how special is that when you get to start it out with someone you love?

HOW DID YOU MEET? We met at Hayden’s 21st birthday party.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Hayden told me that our friends were having a bonfire up American Fork Canyon in Utah. He asked me if I’d be interested in attending along with my best friend Aubree. I was somewhat hesitant seeing as it was November in Utah and somewhat cold but I went along with it and decided to go. We got up to a portion of the canyon Hayden and I had visited before and that’s when I realised it wasn’t just a bonfire. He had lights strung up over a bridge, along the creek and all around a tree with a campfire going. After Hayden proposed a few of our close friends and his family came out from another campsite to enjoy the moment with us.

TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: I actually found my wedding dress much quicker than I had anticipated. My mom was working in Los Angeles at the time and I knew I wanted her there when I got my dress. I had done some window shopping and thought I had an idea of what I wanted. My first appointment was at The Perfect Dress in Holliday, UT. I found my dress there after trying on three or so before it and I was completely in love.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS LOCATION? We chose Dragon Ridge because it is where Hayden spent most of his time growing up. He was there almost everyday golfing.

DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? Because Hayden and I met on his birthday there were some birthday things that were incorporated into our wedding. Hayden’s mom, Karen, makes the best birthday bunt cakes. For our reception she made an arrangement of her cakes that were delicious.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? While the little things are important, don’t get too stressed about them. Enjoy the process and remember it’s your day.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Exchanging vows during our ceremony; during reception being out on the golf course with Hayden taking photos.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: We honeymooned in Hawaii on Maui. I had never been so it was such a fun adventure. We stayed half our trip in Wailea and the back half in Kapalua. The weather was honestly perfect. We took a few day trips to zip-line and take the road to Hana; we spent many days golfing; and the other days we hung out and explored.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? Not one thing.
