Their proposal was just as thoughtful and layered: what Cassie thought was a casual outing to a local winery turned into an intimate proposal, followed by wine tasting for two, a surprise bus filled with friends, and a final engagement party Peter had secretly planned himself.

Choosing Maui wasn’t simply about the scenery, though the ocean views certainly didn’t hurt. It was about inviting their families and friends into a place that held history, meaning, and warmth. The destination allowed everyone to slow down, connect, and truly experience the celebration together over the course of the weekend.

The festivities began with a private sunset sail aboard ShangriLa Sailing Charters. Cassie set the tone in a playful light-blue two-piece by Kaoa Official, perfectly echoing Maui’s ocean hues, while guests embraced a chic off-white palette that glowed in the golden evening light. The following night, friends and family gathered at Ulu Kitchen at The Westin Maui Resort for a relaxed beachfront welcome party overlooking Kaanapali Beach, complete with craft beers, a margarita station, fresh island fare, and live music by local musician Thad Jennings.

Designed by COUTURE EVENTS and brought to life by TERESA SENA DESIGNS, the florals blended soft garden blooms — ranunculus and lisianthus — with tropical elements like orchids and tulip anthuriums. Arranged in low ceramic vessels and kept within a palette of whites, greens, soft blues, and sandy neutrals, the florals struck a beautiful balance between classic romance and island ease.

Cocktail hour unfolded effortlessly as guests were welcomed with chilled tropical-scented towels and signature drinks, including a Mai Tai topped with lilikoi foam and a bright Paloma. A crescent cane bar framed by woven pendants became a natural gathering point, while nearby lounge seating and fire tables encouraged guests to linger and connect as the sun dipped lower.

As night fell, bistro lights and woven pendants cast a warm glow over the reception tables, which mixed white tabletops with natural wood textures and upholstered seating. Each place setting was finished with a single Thai orchid and modern paper goods by SWELL PRESS, reinforcing the clean, refined aesthetic. Live music by MARVIN TEVAGA set the tone for the evening, while heartfelt speeches — including an emotional toast from Cassie’s father — and a choreographed first dance brought the celebration to life.
