If you know me you’ll know I LOVE green! This wedding is everything and moreééò it’s a little slice of perfection in my eyesééò and of course Erich McVey’s incredible photography takes it to another level! This is the last of the real wedding features from Issue 5 of Magnolia Rouge Magazine ééò Issue 6 comes out next week!!

ééòSteven and I loved the idea of having a natural, organic feel set in old California Spanish architecture. The Villa in San Juan Capistrano (a town that has a Spanish Mission from 1776) fit that image perfectly. Since the venue had so much natural beauty, (trees, stone, wood) there wasn’t much that we needed to do to make the venue shine. Our vision ended up being a fresh, clean and organic feeling with natural wood tables and canvas linens.

One of our favourite elements of the wedding were the flowers. Since there was a lot of natural beauty at the venue, we didn’t need to do too much for florals. We ended up using fresh greenery with classic white and ivory flowers. Olive branches were also placed on the tables as this ties into the California Spanish style.ééò

ééòAs soon as we were newly engaged, I couldn’t wait to start looking. I immediately arranged for my family to meet up about a month later at a local boutique. Little did I know that I would fall in love with the dress during that first visit. I tried on around fifteen dresses, but one stood above the rest – a champagne hued mermaid gown with Alencon lace. I had to sleep on the decision though. After discussing with Steven (but not giving any details), I went back the very next day to try it on again and just couldn’t picture myself wearing any other gown. I purchased the gown that day – a full two years before our wedding date.ééò

At the end of the day, your wedding day is about you and your soon to be spouse – a celebration of your journey together through life. After the day is over, everyone is happy and the little things don’t matter.ééò
