Looking back over all the styled shoots we’ve featured, I don’t know that we’ve ever featured one on an historic ship so this is a first! NATASHA HURLEY captured these beautiful images on the Cutty Sark sailing ship – a 19th century tea clipper to be precise – in London. Aiming to inspire brides to incorporate history into their weddings it features some ‘stormy’ stationery from one of our favourites, THE LITTLE NORTH SEA STUDIO and a beautiful bespoke wedding gown by KATE EDMONDSON BRIDAL – we’ve even included the pencil drawings which inspired the finished product – how fun would it be to have these of your own gown?

Natasha tells us, “From the WM Turner oils (which are owned by the Royal Maritime museum that also owns the Cutty Sark), the colour palate was a mixture of swirling blues, greys and dusty pinks. We wanted to evoke a feeling of stormy weather, of windswept drama (something like the novel Jamaica Inn). The dress designer we got on board (no pun intended!) created two beautiful dresses for the shoot.” (Ive included the pencil drawings of the design which I hope are also inspiration for brides to go for a bespoke dress made especially for them).
