California based couple Kristin and Bradley longed to unite their love of the Pacific coast with the unmistakable beauty of the Sonoran Desert on their wedding day. Event stylists ATELIER DE LAFLEUR worked with them to translate the tenderness and warmth they felt from Tucson into a tangible color scheme. Designer Chelsea tells us, “We used a neutral and simultaneously striking palate of white, peach, coral, silver and blue, that progressed from softer hues for the ceremony to brighter and more vibrant shades as the sun set. Choosing to use native cacti and succulents that could then be replanted and tended to for years was not only important for the couple but also deeply established into our firm’s aesthetic and sustainability based ethos.” How fabulous is this idea?
These beautiful images by DANIEL KIM showcase both the ceremony and reception which took place on the grounds of the RITZ CARLTON, at the base of the Tortolita Mountains – an area rich with history and absolute allure. After many months of planning and honing their vision, the couple decided on pairing natural woods, gold and glass accents to mirror the softness of the celebration and also be grounded by the beauty of the mountain landscape. A breathtaking arbor comprised of real saguaro ribs, adorned with lush floral and gauzy white fabric, was designed to be framed against the desert scenery. The sweetest of touches involved Kristin, previously a nanny, choosing to include all the children she has cared for in the ceremony.
Chelsea continues, “As Kristin and Bradley’s event and floral designer, we were inspired by their desire to embrace that of their daily lives in California with their wedding celebrations in Arizona. We incorporated the most delicate and beautiful floral during their wedding: peonies, garden roses, dahlias, hydrangea, astilbe, tuberose, blushing bride protea and of course all the native foliage we could gather! It is always such pleasure working with Daniel Kim, who is an unmistakable force and has a way of using natural light to produce images with such effortlessness.” Congratulations to this gorgeous couple!
