If there’s ever a wedding that perfectly blended heartfelt faith, timeless style, and end-of-year celebration magic, it’s Sydni Ellen and Cameron’s unforgettable New Year’s Eve wedding in Louisiana. Captured so beautifully by MICAHLA VAUGHN, this celebration was full of meaningful traditions, family connections, and sparkling details that reflected both the couple’s personalities and their shared love of Christ.
From a church ceremony steeped in reverence to a joyful, disco-ball-filled reception that rang in the new year with fireworks, their wedding was as intentional as it was fun—a true reflection of their love story.
How They Met
Sydni Ellen and Cameron met in late 2022 on what was technically a blind date—Sydni Ellen agreed to bring Cameron to her Phi Mu semi-formal as a favor for a friend. Neither expected anything more than a fun night out, but the connection was instant. “We clicked,” Sydni Ellen shared, “and laughed so much. It felt different.”
Although Sydni Ellen was hesitant to start a relationship during her senior year of college, Cameron continued to pursue her with patience and sincerity. When she returned from Christmas break, they went on a real date—and began officially dating in February 2023. That same friend who introduced them? They stood beside the couple on their wedding day and will return the honor when Sydni Ellen and Cameron stand in theirs in 2025. Full circle, indeed.

The chapel held additional significance for me, as it was lovingly rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2018. My father served on the building committee that oversaw the rebuild, making it a symbol of resilience and the strength of family and community.

The Proposal
Cameron proposed after church one Sunday, taking Sydni Ellen to his grandparents’ dock overlooking Bayou DeSaird—where he had decorated the space with flowers and a mirror inscribed with “my whole heart for my whole life.” After reading a letter he had written, he got down on one knee.
Sydni Ellen’s ring didn’t fit her finger—it slid perfectly onto her pinky instead. Fittingly, the box was engraved with a pinky promise, a sweet symbol of their relationship. Her parents, who had secretly driven in, were hiding nearby to witness the moment, and they celebrated with loved ones afterward at Bayou DeSaird Country Club.
The Venue
Sydni Ellen and Cameron chose two meaningful venues for their big day. The ceremony was held at The Chapel at FIRST BOSSIER—a church rebuilt after a devastating fire, where Sydni Ellen’s father served on the building committee. Having a sacred, spiritual ceremony in a church that meant something to them felt important, and the team at First Bossier graciously opened the chapel for their New Year’s Eve wedding when most were closed.
For the reception, 601 SPRING Event Venue offered a striking architectural backdrop—complete with coffered ceilings, hand-carved woodwork, and grand chandeliers. It gave them the perfect space to transition from spiritual ceremony to sparkling celebration.

Getting Ready
Sydni Ellen began her day surrounded by the most supportive group of family and friends at The Remington Hotel, pampered by Haley Marie’s Vanity and Graced by Johnna. After a calm, joy-filled morning, the bride and her bridal party traveled in style to the venue thanks to ChristFit Gym.
Photographer MICAHLA VAUGHN and videographer Adam William captured every detail beautifully, while planner Allie Murphy kept everything on schedule. “I never felt rushed or stressed,” Sydni said. “I truly felt like the most special person in the world.”
The First Look
Though initially hesitant, Sydni Ellen opted for a first look due to timing and light. It turned out to be the best decision: she and Cameron exchanged private vows, read scripture, and washed each other’s feet—an intimate act of humility and love. “It helped shift our focus from ourselves to the Lord,” Sydni Ellen shared. “That moment was our favorite part of the day.”
Sydni walked down an all-white floral aisle while her cousins performed “The Blessing”, and the couple took communion surrounded by their families.

The Fashion
Sydni Ellen’s MILLA NOVA gown, with its boat neckline and lace sleeves, was the epitome of timeless grace. Her monogrammed cathedral-length veil featured the same phrase from their proposal—“my whole heart for my whole life.” For the reception, she slipped into a strapless mini dress, paired with pearl-detailed Jordans—a stylish nod to her new last name.
Cameron wore a classic black tuxedo and changed into Jordans for the party. Bridesmaids were dressed in jewel-toned emerald velvet gowns from BIRDY GREY while the groomsmen wore tuxes from SQUIRES FORMALWEAR.
The Florals
Their floral vision, created by DELIA JEFFCOAT DESIGNS and EDDIE COLVIN DESIGN, captured both sacred serenity and New Year’s sparkle. The chapel was filled with all-white florals and soft candlelight, with a ‘meadow aisle’ of hydrangeas, roses, snapdragons, and ranunculus.
At the reception, florals leaned more festive, with serpentine tables lined with rose buds and candles, a baby’s breath cloud suspended above the family table, and disco balls adding sparkle overhead. A jaw-dropping crescent arch framed the cathedral doors, blending elegance with celebration.
A hand-painted cake topper, an ice sculpture with their crest, and a checkered dance floor under glittering disco balls brought New Year’s Eve energy to life.

The Ceremony
Led by Pastor Brad Jurkovich and communion led by Cameron’s grandfather, Father Gary Jordan, the ceremony was emotional, intimate, and faith-filled. Sydni Ellen walked down an all-white floral aisle while her cousins performed “The Blessing”, and the couple took communion surrounded by their families. Every element was designed to keep the focus on the sacred covenant of marriage.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Guests were welcomed to 601 SPRING with champagne and live music by Intensity Bands, creating a soulful and vibrant transition to the reception. A dramatic hexagon bar, cozy lounge seating by Lilac Rentals, and delicious Southern bites from iCater—like mini meat pies and boudin balls—set the tone.
A hand-painted cake topper, an ice sculpture with their crest, and a checkered dance floor under glittering disco balls brought New Year’s Eve energy to life. And at midnight? Fireworks and a vintage getaway car sent the newlyweds into 2024 in cinematic style.
The Honeymoon
The next day, the Jordans jetted to Costa Rica, where they zip-lined through the jungle, swam with sea turtles, and even jumped off the breathtaking Nauyaca Waterfall. It was the perfect adventure to start their marriage—and their new year.
