A Dreamy Dallas Wedding with Blue Details & Editorial Style

This elegant Texas wedding blended classic Southern charm with heartfelt details, from cherished family traditions to joyful moments with loved ones — a beautiful celebration that perfectly honored the couple’s love story.

Captured beautifully by photographer SARAH BLAZE, Macey and Bowen’s wedding was the epitome of timeless Southern elegance. Set in Dallas, Texas—with a reception at PERKINS CHAPEL followed by a reception at THE ROOM ON MAIN—their day overflowed with meaningful traditions, personal touches, and joyful celebration. The couple met while attending Baylor University, introduced through her sorority big sister and his older brother. Though they didn’t connect deeply at first, a casual intramural volleyball team brought them back together years later. Their first official date—a Pat Green concert—kicked off a whirlwind romance that felt instantly right. Just nine months later, Bowen proposed in a quiet, cliffside moment at Cameron Park, offering Macey the private proposal she had always dreamed of.

He was waiting outside for me under the beautiful oak trees. I walked out to him and tapped his shoulder. When he turned around, he had on the widest smile I had ever seen, stretching from ear to ear.

A Sentimental Start to the Wedding Day

The morning of the wedding began at Macey’s childhood home, where she got ready with her bridesmaids and mom. The atmosphere was calm, joyful, and full of nostalgia. Macey read a heartfelt letter from her mom before slipping into her timeless bridal gown. She shared first looks with her bridesmaids and dad, who gifted her a treasured heirloom—her late grandmother’s pearl bracelet, originally given to her by her grandfather on their wedding day

The couple chose to do a private first look outside Perkins Chapel, where they shared personal vows beneath the oak trees. The quiet moment gave them space to soak in the gravity of the day before the ceremony began.

Traditional Ceremony With Meaningful Moments

The ceremony was deeply rooted in the couple’s shared Christian faith and performed by Macey’s uncle, a Baptist preacher who also officiated her parents’ wedding. As a tribute to their Baylor roots, the ceremony concluded with a joyful exit to “When the Saints Go Marching In,” which doubles as the university’s fight song.

We made sure to have all of our special dances and cake cutting done early in the night so that we could just enjoy the time on the dance floor with all of our friends, and it worked out perfectly.

Timeless Style and Thoughtful Details

Macey wore a classic mikado gown by Essence of Australia, featuring a ruched bodice, dramatic train, and an elegant bow detail. She paired it with a cathedral-length veil and heirloom jewelry from both sides of the family. Her bridesmaids echoed the timeless style in floor-length, one-shoulder gowns in light blue with pearl earrings gifted the day before. Bowen wore a navy suit with seersucker accents and special cufflinks honoring his late grandfather, along with their shared Baylor class ring

Elegant Stationery With a Personal Touch

The couple worked with Paper Affair in Dallas for all their stationery. Their suite featured ivory paper, a custom crest, and soft French blue accents. A watercolor of Perkins Chapel adorned the ceremony programs, and a light blue acrylic seating chart featured the phrase “wedding bells and dinner bells are ringing,” in a charming nod to the tiny bells placed at each guest’s seat.

Floral Design With Soft Blue Hues

White roses, ranunculus, hydrangeas, and subtle touches of blue created full, tailored arrangements throughout the day. The ceremony featured two large floral displays, while the reception overflowed with blooms—including a hydrangea runner down the head table and blue-topped wedding cake.

Cocktail Hour and Signature Sips

While the guests mingled during cocktail hour, Macey and Bowen enjoyed a private moment together en route to the reception. Guests were treated to flavorful hors d’oeuvres and two signature cocktails: Macey’s favorite French 75 and Bowen’s espresso martini.

Reception Highlights and a Joyful Dance Floor

From a grand entrance to “Good Day for Marrying You” to a confetti-filled dance floor, the reception was full of fun. After their first dance to George Strait’s “Carried Away” and touching family dances—including a special grandparents’ dance—the newlyweds cut two show-stopping cakes. Macey’s was a five-tier white chocolate cake adorned with a fondant bow and their custom crest. Bowen’s reflected his personality with nods to his fraternity, business, and Texas roots.

A cotton candy cart added whimsy, light-up wands lit up the night, and the packed dance floor kept spirits high thanks to DJ Matt from LeForce.

A Grand Exit in Vintage Style

Before their farewell, the couple shared a private last dance, soaking in the final moment of the best day of their lives. Then, through a sea of white streamers, they exited in a 1935 Ford Touring car named Clyde, waving goodbye from the sunroof as guests cheered them into married life.

A Hawaiian Honeymoon to Remember

The morning after their wedding, Macey and Bowen jetted off to Kauai, Hawaii. They spent their honeymoon exploring canyons, snorkeling, and relaxing by the water—soaking in every moment of their first week as husband and wife.
