Their story began during the height of COVID, with a Bumble match that quickly broke all her usual rules. After she messaged first, Amarender asked for her number — something she rarely gives so easily. When he called her anyway, despite her saying no, the conversation flowed. They met for coffee the very next day, and six years later, that spontaneous first meeting became the foundation for a life together.

Just days after her birthday, Amarender proposed at Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Surrounded by sweeping views and open sky, the moment felt simple, meaningful, and entirely them — quiet in gesture, big in feeling.

The couple chose to marry in Priam’s hometown of Perry, Georgia, at SOUTHERN BRIDLE FARMS, a decision rooted in sentiment and memory. It was the place where her late mother and grandmother had lived, and returning home for the wedding allowed their presence to be felt in a deeply personal way. The rural setting offered space for tradition, reflection, and gathering — grounding the celebration in a sense of continuity and belonging.

Priam chose to get ready alone — an intentionally intimate and calming way to begin such an emotionally layered day. As she stepped into her ceremony attire, her sisters and aunts helped her dress, creating a moment filled with tenderness and quiet support.

She began the day wearing a sari once worn by her aunt on her own wedding day — a piece originally gifted by Priam’s grandmother. Along with jewellery from both her grandmother and mother, these heirlooms allowed her to carry the women who shaped her into the day with her, honouring their presence in a deeply tangible way. Multiple outfit changes marked the rhythm of the day, reflecting the layered traditions and celebrations woven into Indian wedding customs.

Indian wedding ceremonies are known for their depth of meaning and rich ritual, often unfolding over several hours with prayers, blessings, and symbolic moments that mark the joining of two families as much as two people. Priam and Amarender’s ceremony reflected this beautifully.

With Amarender’s family roots in Hyderabad in southern India and Priam’s heritage tied to Gujarat in western India, the couple chose to honour both traditions by inviting a priest from each side to officiate. Watching the two priests work together — blending rituals, transitions, and cultural customs — became one of the most meaningful parts of the day. It was a powerful reflection of the union they were creating: two backgrounds, one shared future.

Rather than rushing into a honeymoon, the couple chose to save that chapter for later, once school commitments allow. They did, however, take a short trip to San Francisco to decompress and enjoy time together after months of hosting family who had come to celebrate with them. It was a gentle pause — a moment to breathe, reflect, and begin married life with the same grounded energy that shaped their wedding day.

True to who they are, Priam and Amarender chose to skip a formal reception entrance, preferring to slip in quietly rather than make a grand arrival. The decision kept the focus where they wanted it — on community, conversation, and shared joy, rather than spectacle.
