A Colourful Outdoor Wedding Overflowing with Love

Bursting with heartfelt emotion and garden romance, this Pennsylvania wedding blended natural beauty with joyful colour. Every detail—florals, stationery, and heartfelt moments—came together to create a day that was personal, meaningful, and deeply joyful.

Captured by KIMBERLY HIDORE, Allison and Shawn’s celebration at BRANDYWINE MANOR HOUSE in Pennsylvania was a vibrant reflection of their personalities — romantic, grounded, and filled with genuine joy. With TAYLOR EMILY EVENTS guiding the details, the day was a perfect balance of heart, beauty, and intention. Thoughtful design touches — from watercolor stationery by WOULDN’T IT BE LOVELY to lush floral arrangements by THE STEMS END — brought the couple’s garden vision to life.

How They Met

Allison and Shawn’s love story began in the digital age — on Hinge — but from their first conversation, it was clear they were meant to meet. They bonded over shared passions for fitness, fishing, and beach life, discovering an easy connection that felt magnetic. “We were pulled together at exactly the right time,” Allison shares. “We’re better for it.”

The Proposal

After a stressful summer, Shawn planned a spontaneous getaway to Lewes, Delaware — a trip Allison reluctantly agreed to. “I didn’t realize it had all been in the works for months,” she laughs. Shawn had asked her parents for their blessing and even disguised trips to the jeweler as visits to the dog park. That evening, under twinkling string lights by the bay, Shawn got down on one knee. “My first words were, ‘Is this real life?’” Allison recalls. “It was the intimate, perfect proposal of my dreams.”

The Vision

Allison envisioned a day that felt like floating through a flower-filled garden — joyful, intentional, and deeply personal. As a sober couple, she and Shawn were determined to prove that a wedding can be vibrant and full of life without relying on alcohol. Signature “Ollie Pop” cocktails (named after their dog), sparkling cider toasts, and iced coffee made their celebration uniquely theirs. “We wanted everyone to feel loved and free,” Allison says. “It was about celebrating all the people who’ve supported us.”

The Details

The couple’s stationery suite by WOULDN’T IT BE LOVELY perfectly captured their playful sophistication, combining watercolor florals, hand-drawn calligraphy, and a touch of green — Shawn’s only design request. “Obsessed is what I am,” Allison shares. “Everything was drawn by hand and captured the romantic, floral vision perfectly.”

The florals by THE STEMS END became the heartbeat of the design: cheerful summer blooms, soft sunflowers, and romantic garden textures in blush, peach, and pink tones. At the ceremony, a floral arch framed the pondfront setting, while the reception featured a flower “garden” around the cake and whimsical arrangements that made the space feel alive. “The florals were everything I dreamed of,” Allison says. “Rachel didn’t hold back.”

Fashion & Getting Ready

A self-proclaimed “comfy gal,” Allison found her dream gown — the “Paris” by ELLA MODA — at THE IVORY CONCEPT in Malvern. “I want to be buried in that dress!” she jokes. Its romantic silhouette paired beautifully with her natural, glowing bridal look. The bridesmaids chose pink gowns in varying styles, while her brother, the “Mate of Honor,” wore a floral bowtie to match the wildflower theme.

The morning was filled with laughter and calm energy. “We skipped the champagne pop and did breakfast in bed instead,” Allison shares. “It was perfect — coffee, bagels, and peace.”

The Ceremony

Their ceremony by the pond was simple, heartfelt, and meaningful. “We didn’t want anything long or performative,” says Allison. They included a touching “Ring Warming Ceremony,” where each set of parents held the couple’s rings to bless them with love and support. One of their favorite moments was turning to face their guests mid-ceremony — taking in all the love surrounding them.

“It wouldn’t be a wedding if it wasn’t about love. But Allison and Shawn’s wedding was about something else as well: life, and a life well-lived. Allison and Shawn’s wedding celebrated every bit of their joy with deep and caring support from their friends and family. The wedding design and details by Taylor Emily Events incorporated all of the things that were most important to the couple. The extremely colorful palette was joyful, and the floral design pulled in Allison’s favorite flower–the sunflower–which she has tattooed on her arm as a symbol of hope and resilience.Their whimsical watercolor custom crest was not only on the stationery, but also on the wedding day signage and the drink picks. The couple served signature non-alcoholic mocktails and sparkling cider alongside all of the usual bar staples, demonstrating inclusivity to all guests. Allison and Shawn are gracious and kind. They love big and they laugh with their whole selves. Allison is a (phenomenal) yoga teacher, where she spreads love and kindness to her community. Shawn cares dutifully for the environment in his everyday work as an arborist. The two of them make the world a better place every day by just being here.” KIMBERLY HIDORE

The Reception

The reception was a dream come true — warm light, laughter, and dancing beneath the stars. After months of lessons, Allison and Shawn performed a choreographed first dance to Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” complete with lifts and spins that had guests cheering. Later in the evening, KIMBERLY and the planners led them outside under the pretense of night portraits — only for Allison’s dad to surprise them with fireworks. “It was magical,” she says. “The best moment of the night.”

The Honeymoon

The newlyweds escaped to St. Lucia the very next day, where they spent a blissful week at Sugar Beach Resort soaking up the sun and snorkeling beneath the stars. “It was the perfect way to start married life,” Allison says.

From the soft summer light to the tender glances shared throughout the day, Magnolia Rouge Vendor KIMBERLY HIDORE captured the essence of the day in her signature romantic style—honest, artful, and full of feeling. A garden celebration that was, in every sense, a reflection of joy.
