With a thoughtful approach rooted in storytelling, TEE & REBECCA PHOTOGRAPHY capture weddings with a timeless sensibility that blends emotion, artistry, and honest connection. Working together as a husband-and-wife team, Tee and Rebecca have built a body of work defined by its refined yet deeply personal feel, documenting celebrations with an intuitive eye for both beauty and meaning. Photographing on both fine art film and digital, their imagery feels enduring rather than trend-led, preserving not only how a wedding day looked, but the atmosphere, emotion, and fleeting in-between moments that made it unforgettable.

Our photography style is rooted in timeless fine art imagery with a strong emphasis on light, emotion, and thoughtful composition. We approach each wedding with a documentary sensitivity while maintaining an editorial eye, allowing moments to unfold naturally while still guiding couples into beautiful environments and light. Film plays an important role in our work because of the way it renders light and color with a softness and depth that feels enduring. By combining film with digital photography, we’re able to preserve both the artistry and the spontaneity of the day. What truly sets us apart is the way Rebecca and I work together as a husband-and-wife team. Photographing weddings side by side allows us to move through the day with an intuitive rhythm, anticipating moments from different perspectives while creating a calm and supportive presence for our couples.

Our approach is a thoughtful balance between structure and spontaneity. Much of a wedding day unfolds naturally, and we believe the most meaningful photographs often come from allowing those moments to happen without interruption. Throughout the day we photograph with a documentary mindset, observing interactions and emotions as they unfold. At the same time, we provide gentle guidance during portraits to ensure couples are placed in beautiful light and environments where the images can feel both natural and refined. Because Rebecca and I photograph together, we’re able to capture the day from multiple perspectives—preserving both the quiet in-between moments and the larger celebrations as they unfold.

I always encourage couples to look beyond individual images and focus on the full story a photographer tells. A beautiful photograph is important, but it’s equally valuable to see how a photographer captures the entire day—from the quiet anticipation in the morning to the celebration later in the evening. Wedding photographs become part of a family’s history, so choosing a photographer whose work feels timeless is incredibly important. Equally meaningful is the connection you feel with the person behind the camera. When couples feel comfortable and trust their photographer, the images naturally become more authentic and meaningful.

The most helpful thing couples can do is focus on each other rather than the camera. When couples are fully present with one another, the photographs naturally reflect that authenticity. There’s no need to perform or worry about posing perfectly. Some of the most beautiful moments come from simple interactions—a shared laugh, a quiet embrace, or taking a moment to breathe together and take in the day. Our role is to create an environment where couples feel relaxed and supported, allowing those natural moments to unfold.

One wedding that has stayed with me deeply was a celebration where every part of the day was shaped by intention and meaning. The couple approached their wedding not simply as an event, but as a moment to honor the relationships that had shaped their lives. The bride’s father was ill at the time, and there was a quiet understanding among everyone present that the day carried a deeper significance. Because of that, the atmosphere felt incredibly present and heartfelt. Moments that might otherwise pass quickly were held onto just a little longer—embraces, conversations, and shared laughter carried a sense of gratitude and awareness that was palpable. What stood out most was how relational the entire celebration felt. Every element of the day reflected the couple’s desire to be fully present with the people they loved most. Experiences like that are a powerful reminder of why wedding photography holds such meaning. Long after the day itself has passed, those photographs become a way for families to revisit the moments, emotions, and connections that defined that chapter of their story.

Much of my inspiration comes from observing the quiet beauty found in everyday life. I’ve always been drawn to watching how people interact—the small gestures, expressions, and moments of connection that often pass unnoticed. A shared glance, a reassuring hand on someone’s shoulder, or the way people naturally gather around one another can reveal so much about human connection. Those subtle interactions continually inspire the way I photograph. Living along the California coast also plays a significant role in shaping my perspective. The way light moves through the landscape—from the softness of coastal fog to the warm glow of the evening sun over the ocean—constantly influences how I see and compose an image. Beyond weddings, I enjoy photographing without a timeline, whether that’s documenting everyday moments with my family or studying how light interacts with landscapes. Film continues to shape my creative process because it encourages patience and intention with each frame.

When I’m not behind the camera, most of my time is spent with my family. Rebecca and I enjoy slowing down and spending time outdoors with our son whether that’s exploring the coastline, walking local trails, or simply enjoying time in the garden at home. I also enjoy observing everyday life in a quieter way. Sitting at a café, walking through a town, or simply watching how people interact can often be surprisingly inspiring. Those slower moments away from work help bring balance and perspective, and they often influence the way I see the world when I return to photographing.

Our work is rooted in both fine art film and digital photography, with a strong preference for medium format systems. We primarily photograph with Hasselblad and Contax 645 cameras, which allow us to capture the depth, softness, and tonal richness that medium format film is known for. Film plays an important role in our process because of the way it renders light so naturally and encourages a slower, more intentional approach to each frame. Alongside film, we also work with Leica cameras for both film and digital photography. Their simplicity and precision allow us to remain unobtrusive and responsive as moments unfold. Ultimately, the equipment simply serves as a tool to translate light, emotion, and atmosphere into photographs that feel timeless and honest.

A dream wedding for me is one where the setting, design, and people feel naturally connected. I’m drawn to celebrations that feel thoughtful and timeless rather than overly elaborate—where every element reflects the couple’s story and the atmosphere encourages people to slow down and be present with one another. The California coast will always feel inspiring. Places like Pebble Beach, The Santa Lucia Preserve, Tehama, Holman Ranch, or the cliffs of Big Sur offer landscapes that feel both dramatic and serene. Ocean views, rolling hills, vineyards, and soft coastal light create a setting where the environment becomes part of the story. In terms of style, I’m drawn to designs that feel elegant and understated—natural textures, beautiful florals, and refined color palettes that complement the surroundings. Ultimately, the most inspiring weddings are the ones centered around connection. When the focus remains on family, relationships, and shared moments of joy, the entire day carries a beautiful energy that translates effortlessly into photographs.

My ideal day off would be a slow and simple one spent with my family. Living along the California coast makes it easy to step outside and enjoy the natural beauty around us, so a perfect day often begins with time outdoors—walking along the shoreline, exploring nearby trails, or simply enjoying the ocean air. I also enjoy slowing down enough to notice the small details that often inspire my work—watching how people interact, observing the way light moves through a landscape, or spending time in the garden at home. Those quieter moments tend to restore creativity and remind me of the simple beauty that surrounds us.
