I’m delighted to bring you the second shoot from the Portland workshop of JEREMY CHOU. Captured on the stunning grounds of LEWIS & CLARK – a gorgeous campus set in wooded acres in Portland’s southwest – it was elegant romance at its best. The lovely TRISTAN NEEDHAM DESIGN who took care of the concept and styling had this to say about it, “The Pacific Northwest truly couldn’t have been more beautiful whilst we were there. From the leaves turning, to the cool breeze, to the romantic and moody clouds, our Lewis and Clark Elopement was the perfect “Chapter 2” to our FIRST LIGHT AND AIRY SHOOT at Cannon Beach. We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome and truly cannot wait to go back.
As a designer and stylist, it works best for me when I create a story in keeping with the authenticity of the client that would actually book the venue in real life… young Portland natives, alumni of LEWIS & CLARK, botanical artist and art historian. To get to this point, I ask myself – what type of career would this client have, what brands would they choose to outfit themselves in, what aesthetic would speak to this client most? I’ve found that questions like these help the photographers and other vendors involved to genuinely connect, be inspired, and most importantly aid in the opportunity to book real clients with a similarly elevated mindset.
Jeremy and I are both so grateful to create and connect with the vendors involved in this shoot. GRACELINE ART’S beautifully executed botanical inspired invitation suite couldn’t have been more perfect, especially when paired with SUSIE SALTZMAN rings and the taupe and copper tones of the TONO & CO. styling fabric and ribbon.
ALEXANDRA GRECCO’S floral embellished skirt and silky minimal top, brought just enough femininity and contrasted nicely against the lush gardens of the college. CASSANDRA KENNEDY created a perfectly elevated and feminine up-do and make-up palette. THE BLACK TUX hit a home run (like always) and fit our groom impeccably. CREATIVE CANDLES sent the creamiest perfectly taupe tapers and pillars for our table design. SOMETHING BORROWED PDX had the most beautifully industrial tabletop and furniture rentals. FLOURISH BY KAY created absolutely stunning florals for the cake, table, and bouquet. Paula of WIND FLOWER CAKES, created the loveliest two tier cake – that was just as tasty as it looks. Our models were absolute gems – they embraced the experience and didn’t flinch once in the rain, and our hosts and staff at LEWIS & CLARK couldn’t have been more hospitable and kind.”
