For Tiffany, growing up on Maui meant that it was important to hold her wedding to Chris on the island. Captured by one of our favourites, Hawaii wedding photographer CHRISTINE CLARK PHOTO it was held at the stunning SUGARMAN ESTATE – a beautiful space right on the ocean – and was made all the more special by having their young daughter there to celebrate with. Rather than follow a particular style, the couple just pulled together things that felt ‘like them’ and the result of course gave the their own unique look. Take a look at all the beauty below…
HOW DID YOU MEET? At a local pub in Hermosa Beach California, or as my husband phrased it when he met my parents, “the library.”
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: The most perfect slow Thursday morning. Breakfast made by Chris and the most beautiful ring I will never take off.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: One sleepless night I stumbled across my dress on Instagram and immediately fell in love with the fact that the Frankie dress had pockets. It felt a bit risky ordering online and from Australia nonetheless. I needed to send in my measurements only two months after having my baby so there was a bit of guess work involved. By some bridal miracle the dress fit and felt exact the second I put it on.
ANY DIY ELEMENTS? My largest labour of love was hand watercolour painting each of the invitations. I also made the escort cards, food menus, cocktail menus, cocktail recipes, table numbers, boutonnieres, haku leis for our flower girls, and I dyed and made the dinner linens. The last few days leading up to the wedding were a blur with last minute touches including making simple syrups infused with with ginger and jalepenos and harvesting foliage with my florist.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Nothing could compete with the beauty of the venue. Or so I thought before I saw the flowers. They were organic and stunning thanks to our lovely family friend, Patti Domingo. The Banksias were my favourite.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: Walking down the aisle to an acoustic rendition of “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison. Followed by exiting the ceremony to “You Make My Dreams” by Hall and Oates.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? Right at the conclusion of our ceremony our daughter was put back into my arms. As she looked to all our guests she started clapping with excitement.
ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT HELP TELL THE STORY OF YOUR DAY? The gourmet food truck by Three’s Bar and Grill and the hula performances put on by Pono Murray. All the details came together to create the most incredible atmosphere.
