After meeting and connecting at work Summa & Adam quickly worked out that they were meant to be together forever. Following a romantic beach proposal they went about planning their wedding at HOPEWOOD HOUSE in Bowral – a small town in the Southern Highlands south of Sydney where the bride’s family live. Sydney wedding photographer LANA NOVA captured their day which had a garden wedding vibe that Tanya from OH FLORA helped them to achieve. Summa tells us, “She is a flower guru and designed a concept for us using seasonal spring florals, including buckets of garden roses, ruffled peonies & lightly scented sweet pea in shades of pink, blush, lilac and creamy tones. We went for a modern secret garden vibe overall concept – every single detail was thought out from bouquets ribbon colours to the table number design by YESTERDAY CREATIVE.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: The time had come to escape from our work hustle and bustle so we headed to Hamilton Island for a short break. One night we found ourselves on a beach just before the sunset enjoying the mind-blowing colours of the sky nature painted on for us. I was absolutely mesmerised by the view and froze for a moment and when I looked back at Adam he was in front of me on one knee holding the ring. I haven’t felt happier my entire life.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: My friend is a dressmaker and he helped me to chose a dress and alter it too. Then there was a lovely surprise waiting for me when I finally got my gown off the rack just before slipping into it on the day. He got Adam to write and very personal note for me on a silky piece of fabric, which got hand sawn onto the lining of my dress just before the wedding day. When I saw that special message just few hours before I was about to marry the love of my life, tears of joy started rolling down my eyes. It was an incredible moment and I think you can see it in one of the images from the day.
DID YOU HAVE ANY DIY ELEMENTS? We hired wedding professionals to look after everything for us as we the understood importance of it.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Spring, garden inspired blooms with a secret garden feel. Using a mix of floral, textures, fruits and foliage in shades of: Pink, taupe, lilac, navy & a touch of light peach white cream.
FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: Personalised messages we left for each other . Adam wrote a message for me that got sawn onto the lining of my dress and I wrote a card that I sent over to him with his favourite perfume.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Absolutely hands down get a wedding planner involved as they will take most of the stress away form you. Use professional vendors as they will invest their experience, talent and effort to piece your wedding together like a beautiful mosaic.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? When we said I do to each other. I can definitely call it the happiest moment of my life this far.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON: We travelled to Amalfi coast to enjoy each others company, good food and wine.
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE OR DO DIFFERENTLY? Our wedding was absolutely perfect, we wouldn’t change a thing.
