I must admit I’m very drawn to simple clean aesthetics when it comes to weddings these days… very much a less is more approach. It allows those elements that are very important to you, really shine and have their moment. Gives them room to breath so to speak. JAKE ANDERSON worked with KAE & ALES on this simple refined shoot that’s abundant in elegance and provides plenty of inspiration for those of you brides looking to par things back a little.
Stylist Kae from KAE & ALES tells us, “While creating this editorial, we were inspired by the concept of seasonal transitions. Here in the Pacific Northwest, winter has a way of lingering a little longer than anticipated, so the feeling of seeing blossoming branches making their appearance is one of sheer excitement. Fueled by that emotion, we wanted to showcase a wedding for the late winter bride that feels warm, inviting, and feminine while still maintaining a modern and minimal aesthetic.
We started with a sweet, bell-sleeved gown by LENA MEDOYEFF, a soft braid, and the gentlest shade of pink lipstick for our bride’s look. A divine bouquet by HART FLORAL DESIGN featured Japanese ranunculus and hellebores completed her look.
To highlight the dinner table, we hung a beautiful blossoming ladder that cast a silhouette of its springy outline on the clean, white walls. Handmade ceramic vases in modern shapes held more ranunculus and added a hint of masculinity to the tablescape. The paper goods were the perfect mix of soft, creamy ivories and warm grays with gentle charcoal calligraphy to tie the look together.”
