French photographer ALAIN M. worked with planner & stylist INTENS EVENTS to create something simple and timeless. Something that was sophisticated yet organic and managed to convey friendship, love and strong values.
Alain tells us, “To shake things up a little, we decided rather than focus on the regular wedding dinner table we’d focus on another aspect of the wedding celebration that everyone looks forward to – the day after wedding brunch. Since we’re both based in France, we chose to showcase the amazing areas that our country has to offer but aren’t so obvious to visitors, and we ended up picking “Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert”, a medieval village between the Hérault river in Southern France and the mountains. With its old stone houses and narrow streets it offered us a very picturesque backdrop. It’s also a stop off on the way to St Jacques de Compostelle and you will find many symbols of this important pilgrimage all over the streets of the village. The area is well known for its hospitality so in order for this idea to come through our images, we decided to have organic foods from all the Languedoc Roussillon (region where the shoot took place): breads, cheese, wine, fresh fruits, tarts, cakes, all organised like a banquet with guests around the table.
In terms of colour palette, we chose organic and muted colours, to fit the location as much as possible. The stationery is handmade by the talented SHASTA BELL which infuses the timelessness we wanted in this styled shoot.” A gorgeous CATHYTELLE wedding gown in pale blue with a lace overlay on the bodice completed the look and was striking against the models red hair.
