Jason and Caitriona – from the Philippines and Ireland respectively – travelled to Italy from their home in Australia to live out their dream of a Tuscan wedding in the stunning countryside of Lucca. With its perfect weather, cypress tress and quintessential rolling Tuscan hills, it was the ideal setting for an intimate wedding. The day started at the authentic Villa Mosheni where Caitriona and Jason prepared for the day before exchanging personal gifts with each other in an emotional meeting. Next the entire wedding party headed off to the city-centre for the legal wedding and ceremony. Belgian based wedding photographer GERT HUYGAERTS travelled to the beautiful region to capture the festivities and these beautiful images are the result.
Gert tells us, "The historical town-hall Palazzo Orsetti was jaw dropping – so much so that guests were silent in their awe of its beauty. After the adorable couple said "yes", everyone could proceed to the church of Santa Zita for a small and intimate ceremony – which incorporated some Filipino traditions. After the ceremony we went into the city centre to have some family and couple photos at some of the most picturesque and beautiful spots Lucca has to offer, after which we then headed back to Villa Mosheni. When 'golden hour' came upon us I invited the couple to come with me for some portraits in the olive grove just around the corner of the Villa… something we will never forget. The view was absolutely breath-taking and the light was just magical!" The evening ended with an intimate dinner – delicious food, good wine, beautiful atmosphere and lots of love. The perfect ingredients for the perfect celebration!
