Every love story is unique, and AUDE LUCAS PHOTOGRAPHY is dedicated to capturing that uniqueness with a perfect balance of emotion and artistry. As an Asian French photographer, Aude’s life has always been shaped by duality—navigating different cultures, perspectives, and now, blending her past in academia with her passion for wedding photography. This rich background translates into her work, where the raw, unscripted emotions of a wedding day meet a refined, editorial elegance.

With an eye for both the grand and intimate moments, Aude creates timeless images that celebrate the joy, romance, and fleeting beauty of each wedding. Her approach is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and deeply personal, ensuring that every couple’s essence is reflected in photographs that are as authentic as they are poetic. Whether it’s guiding couples into natural, graceful poses or capturing the spontaneous laughter and tears, she brings both precision and heart to her craft.

For couples seeking photography that feels both soulful and sophisticated, Aude delivers an experience that is more than just documentation—it’s an artful preservation of their most cherished memories.

I’ve loved photography since I was a student back in 2010! I started out with travel photography, family portraits, and even macro photography (I would capture insects, especially butterflies). My journey into wedding photography began after my own wedding. I spent two years planning it, and once it was over, I couldn’t bear to leave the beautiful world of weddings behind. I quickly became inspired to create stunning, high-end images. I trained myself, and then the pandemic hit. Although there were fewer weddings early on in my career, I used the time to work on some incredible styled shoots that pushed me to levels I never imagined.

My photography style is pretty versatile—it’s editorial, bright, timeless, and romantic, but also modern, fashion-oriented, and full of candid moments brimming with emotion. What sets me apart is my eye for perfection: I capture couture-like portraits, where every tiny detail is carefully crafted. To me, this is what makes my images so beautiful and ensures my couples receive timeless photos of their special day.

I love when the wedding day is well-structured, but I also want my couples to relax, enjoy the moment, and move naturally during their photo session. Of course, I’m happy to guide them in editorial poses if they’re not sure how to pose, but what I love most is when they’re just being themselves.

My advice would be to choose a photographer whose style matches the vision you have for your wedding photos. It’s also important that their personality, availability, and warmth align with your values and who you are as a couple. And don’t forget about budget! The price should fit within what you’ve planned for your wedding, though it might be worth stretching your budget a little—after all, in wedding photography (like at a restaurant), the price is often reflective of the quality of service and photos you’ll receive.

I don’t have one wedding that stands out as more memorable than the others—all of them have their unique beauty for one reason or another. Each wedding has a couple with a one-of-a-kind love story, and I connect with each of their journeys. What they all share is the deep love they have for each other, and honestly, I can’t help but get emotional during every ceremony. I do have a special fondness for weddings with beautiful design and venues, but what really touches me is telling the story of the couple. Recently, I had a very emotional experience photographing the civil ceremony of a young woman who had once helped me solve a deeply personal mystery in my life. Over 13 years ago, a friend of mine left me a coded message before passing away, and for years, I couldn’t decipher it. Then, by pure chance, I met this young woman during a kokedama DIY workshop, and she helped me finally crack the code. It felt incredibly meaningful to be able to photograph her wedding—after she had helped me in such a significant way. That day, my professional work truly connected with something very personal in my life, and it was a moment I’ll never forget.

As I mentioned earlier, I spent years doing macro photography of insects—I’ve always loved photographing the tiny details. This passion has given me a keen eye for the little things, so I absolutely love photographing wedding accessories, especially in flatlay compositions.
I’m also very drawn to high fashion and regularly visit fashion exhibitions. The world of fashion continuously inspires me and pushes my photography style to evolve into something even more editorial and modern.

When I’m not behind the camera, I keep myself busy with a variety of things: I love reading (mostly novels), doing yoga, cooking, playing video games, traveling, and even knitting! But above all, my favorite thing to do in my free time is spend it with my husband, who I’ve been with for 18 years, and catching up with friends and colleagues over coffee to chat about the latest wedding industry trends.

I shoot with Canon equipment—two hybrid cameras, multiple lenses, a flash, and an LED panel. But honestly, I don’t like talking much about gear, because to me, it’s not the equipment that makes a great photographer (though it helps), it’s the eye and how one manages their career.

With an eye for both the grand and intimate moments, Aude creates timeless images that celebrate the joy, romance, and fleeting beauty of each wedding.

My dream destination wedding to photograph would be in Bali or Thailand! I’m drawn to colorful landscapes, and I absolutely love the tropics. With family roots from former Indochina, I’m much more fond of warm, humid climates than cold environments!

My tip for couples would simply be to look at each other. When a couple looks into each other’s eyes, they feel at ease, and so much love and emotion can come through in that moment.

My dream wedding to photograph would be a fine art design, elegant with tons of flowers, held outdoors in a warm climate (yes, once again, we’re talking tropics! haha!). The couple would want stunning, editorial-style photos of themselves, and the guests would be totally wild, dancing and having a joyful time. I also have a soft spot for Asian weddings, given my own heritage—so when the couple is Asian and the wedding design honors their culture, I can’t help but fall in love with the whole event!

In the summer, my ideal day off would be spent at home, doing absolutely nothing. But in winter, my ideal day off would be spent photographing a beautiful wedding under the tropics (yes, again! Haha!).
